The Milton C. Davis III Scholarship Program was established to honor the remarkable life and legacy of Milton C. Davis III — a devoted pastor, coach, mentor, educator, and advocate for * FIRE STEM. Mr. Davis was not only a NASA aerospace engineer but also an adjunct college professor, entrepreneur, and loving family man whose influence extended far beyond the classroom and laboratory

Affectionately known by his students as Coach Milton, he was instrumental in expanding the impact of FIRE STEM, helping to increase student participation by 200%, growing the program while welcoming middle school participants. His tireless dedication, unwavering belief in the power of education, and deep commitment to uplifting young people made him a beloved figure among students, parents, and volunteers alike.

Known for his integrity, compassion, and visionary leadership, Coach Milton brought a rare combination of technical expertise and human connection to everything he did. His innovative approach to making STEM education accessible and relevant inspired countless students to dream bigger and reach higher. As a pastor and mentor, he guided others not just academically, but morally and spiritually — shaping lives with wisdom, humility, and purpose.

The Milton C. Davis III Scholarship continues his mission by supporting the next generation of FIRE STEM students. The scholarship application will open in January 2026 and is available to graduating seniors who are active members of FIRE STEM, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; and plan to attend a community college or a four-year college or university.

*FIRE STEM is a program that engages students in science and engineering in a way that provides them with proficient skills and confidence to succeed in the science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), and entrepreneurial arenas.
